-before you read this, I should credit ROSIE as she was wonderful and helped me write this -
We were all sat at the dining table eating dinner that night before Ryan and Jamie went out to rehearsals when the phone rang. Keith went to get it as we all continued eating, I flicked a pea at Jamie earlier and it accidentally hit Adrienne in the eye, so it didn’t seem like a good idea to try be funny, so I just left it. A few minutes later Keith walked back in and sat back down.
‘So, that was your band photographer on the phone!’ Keith broke the uncomfortable silence. Ryan has a confused look about him.
‘Did he not want to talk to us, y’know, the band?’ He furrowed his brow.
‘He quit. He’s been hired to be the photographer on some expedition.’ Keith replied bluntly.
‘Well what are we going to do?’ Jamie asked, doing his signature hair flip.
Everyone was silent for a moment, then Keith went and got the phone book.
‘Let’s just look for a temporary photographer! You’ll need one for tomorrow!’
He slammed the book down on the desk.
After we all finished, I cleared the table and done all the washing up and Ryan and Jamie left, I just went straight to bed. I don’t know why, but I was really tired.
‘Daisy….. Daisy…. Daisy!’ I felt a light tap and heard harsh whispering from behind me. I rubbed my eyes and turned onto my back, opening my tired eyes to find Ryan leaning over me.
‘It’s 3AM. What could possibly posses you to wake me right now?’ I croaked, turning on my side lamp. He looked straight ahead and back down at me.
‘Be our photographer?’ He asked excitedly.
‘Really? What about Ian and everyone else, are they okay with it?’ my voice was still a little croaky.
‘Yeah! We all thought it’d be a good idea, and we can all spend time together!’ He raised his eyebrows.
‘ugh okay, just turn that light out, it’s hurting my eyes!’ I scrunched my eyes up putting my hands up to them to cover them.
He brushed his hand across my forehead and kissed it before clicking the lamp off. I turned back into my sleeping position, from what I seem to remember, Ryan lay with me, wrapping his arms tightly around my waist and fitting his knees behind mine. I couldn’t quite tell, I was too tired to pay attention.
-The Next Day-
We’d been in the car for about an hour now, we were traveling down to their gig. I was sat between Jamie and Nash I kept elbowing them as I checked I had everything for my main camera and had put batteries in a little compact one incase my main camera stops working.
‘Are you done now?’ Nash moaned
‘Almost!’ I stretched my arm out, turned the camera us, leaned into Nash and took a photo of us. He was puffing up his cheeks and scrunching his eyes, whilst I pouted my lips and widened it eyes, it was really funny. I put the compact camera away and ten leaned into Jamie with my main camera and took a photo of us, just a normal smiling one. I leaned over the back of the seat, putting the bags for the cameras in the boot when my phone vibrated in my pocket.
I sat back down, quickly put my seatbelt back on and put my legs out straight so I could pull my phone out my pocket. I unlocked it and it went straight to the twitter app and I had been tweeted a photo, by Nash.
‘@NashOverstreet: Can’t complain with this view, can I @daisybarlow?’
He’d took a photo of my butt when I’d leaned over the seat. I slowly turned my head to look at him, squinting my eyes. We pulled over at a gas station to get some lunch just as I turned to Nash. We got out the car and walked into the little kiosk. As we walked back across the Gas station with our sandwiches and juice, I walked in front of Nash, slightly stuck my butt out and tapped it.
‘You’re only jealous cause you ain’t getting none of this!’ I looked at Nash over my shoulder. He nodded and people at the station began to look at me, I didn’t care.
Once back on the road we all sat in silence doing our own little things when a yellow car drove by us. I put my iPod on my leg, raised both my arms and smacked them down onto Nash and Jamie’s knees, yelling ‘yellow car no hit backs’
as I did so.
They both flinched in pain, grabbing their knees. Ian was shotgun so he looked back over the gap between the seats to see what was happening. I was sat their killing myself laughing as Nash rubbed his knee and Jamie leaned over on his. Ian began to laugh too.
Nash pulled his hand up as if he was going to smack me, my defence system being top notch, I slouched down in the seat and crossed my arms over my face, swinging my legs about.
‘No, no, I’m sorry I never meant it. Forgive meeeeee!’ I pleaded, laughing slightly. I could hear Nash lowering his arm and everyone else laughed. I sat back up and jokingly cried into Jamie’s shoulder that Nash was going to hit me.
‘You know Nash, you shouldn’t be hitting women, it’s disrespectful!’ Jamie emphasized, patting my head jokingly. I laughed innocently and raised my head from Jamie’s shoulder, pushing one of my stray curls from my face.
Ryan turned the radio up loud as ILILT came on, and we spent the next four minutes singing along in hysterics. I think the guys were impressed by my flawless rapping skills.
The car pulled into a cul-de-sac, filled with some pretty big houses.
‘I think it was number four…’ Said RK, who was now manoeuvring the car into a parallel park. He brought the car to a stop and pulled the keys out of the ignition. He opened his car door, and hopped out and pulled the Rayban sunglasses that were resting on his head off and slipped them into the pocket of his blue wash jeans. As Jamie got out of the door to my left, RK held out his hand with a beaming smile. I took it, smiling back. I jumped off of the car floor and my knees bent slightly as I hit the concrete pavement. RK pulled me in and fit his arm snugly around my waist.
‘Come on lovebirds, we’ve got people to please in there!’ Jamie nodded his head in the direction of the house.
‘Shall we?’ Ryan asked, his face inches away from mine, he placed his arm out for me to take.
‘We shall!’ I smiled, giving him a quick kiss on the lips before slipping my hand into his.
Everyone collected their belongings from the boot as I went up and chapped the door informing what I assumed was the mother of our arrival.
She lead me through the house to the fairly large front room, turning back to look at me.
‘Should this be big enough?’ She asked, slightly spreading her arms out. There was a clear space in the room where I guessed they were going to perform. I leaned back looking out the window to see how the guys were, they were making their way up the drive way.
‘This should be perfectly fine! You have a beautiful house!’ I told her.
The guys all filled into the room with their equipment and the woman greeted them all. I found out her name was Jackie. She left us to all set up and went into the back yard to distract the children whilst we did so.
(Ryan’s P.O.V)
The amplifiers were plugged in, guitars tuned and pillows were laid on the floor for people to sit. Daisy had set up in the back corner next to the window, she said the lighting was really good over there and took a few tester photos.
5 minutes later, the floor was occupied by roughly 8, ecstatic nine to eleven year old girls with their cameras and a few gifts they had made us. Before we began to play we all sat and spoke, then we played ILILT and Alright, then stopped to get asked a few questions. The flash from Daisy’s camera was getting slightly annoying, I think she realized that and disabled it.
There was a little girl, about the age of 10, waving her hand rapidly in the hair, desperate to say something. I pointed at her and she took her hand down.
‘What’s your name?’ I asked her.
‘Maddie’ she replied, blushing a little
‘What’s your question Maddie?’ I smiled at her. She turned to look at Daisy, then back at me.
‘Do you have a girlfriend?’ A look of honesty interest on her face.
Do I have a girlfriend? I thought to myself? Yes, I do, Daisy, and she knows that, but I know how mean people can be. I don’t want to say the wrong thing then have her hate me! I didn’t want her to be able to log on to twitter and have people saying nasty things about her, she didn’t deserve it. I looked up at her, she had a distant expression. I looked at Nash who was also looking at me, he moved his eyes as if to say ‘well… go on!’ I leaned up the mic and took a breath in.
‘No, I don’t have a girlfriend.’
